The tournament will be played in St. George, Utah. Congratulations to Coach Prickett, Coach Nabarrette, and all the outstanding young ladies who have brought one MORE championship to Odessa College!

The Odessa College Rodeo teams had a very successful year under first year coach Kelly Doster. The women’s team finished 7th in the Southwest Region, while the men’s team finished 8th in the Southwest Region. With only one rodeo left in the season, a handful of Odessa College Wranglers had an opportunity to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo. After the dust settled, two Wranglers earned a trip to the College National Finals Rodeo. Katelyn Lide finished fourth in the all-around and second in breakaway roping, while team mate Seth Hall also qualified for the CNFR in the team roping event. The CNFR will be held in Casper, Wyoming. June 13-19, 2010.
OC Baseball: One MORE Game

Even after nineteen wins out of thirty two conference baseball games, the Odessa College baseball team still has some work left to do in order to qualify for the Region V Championship. The Wranglers split their weekend series with Clarendon, which put them in an unprecedented 4-way tie for second place in the conference. All four teams were ranked using a power-point system. The results from the ranking left Midland in second and New Mexico Junior College in third. In an ironic twist of fate, the two teams who had just split a weekend series, OC and Clarendon, ended up with the exact same power point score. The Wranglers will now play Clarendon once again to determine the fourth and final spot in the Region V Championship. The game will take place Tuesday night at Texas Tech’s Dan Law Field. Game time is 7:00 pm.

OC Baseball Sweeps New Mexico Military

After struggling through a messy 4-3 victory in game one of their four game series against New Mexico Military, the Odessa College baseball team caught fire at the plate. The next three games of the series saw the Wranglers score 42 runs! Freshman Alex German led the way with an incredible .733 batting average for the series. Alex had eleven hits in fifteen at bats with eleven RBI’s for the weekend. As impressive as the hitting was for the Wranglers, the pitching might have been even more impressive. Case in point, freshman pitcher Fabian Roman threw a no hitter in a dominating game two victory for OC 15-0 over New Mexico Military. The game was shortened to five innings because of run rule. Alex only faced 17 batters, allowing two walks and only throwing 56 pitches. The Wranglers have put themselves right in the thick of the WJCAC race with their weekend performance. The Wranglers return home to face New Mexico Junior College for a double header this Friday, April 23rd. First pitch is at noon.
