Derek Diaz – A sophomore
Left handed pitcher from Miami, Florida. Derek
is a transfer from a Community College in Iowa. Derek
will provide much needed depth to a pitching
staff.
Derek Loera – A freshman Left handed pitcher
from Odessa. Derek will be a very important
piece to the pitching staff as one of the starters
in the rotation. Derek will bring
a 90 mph fastball with a plus curve ball and
a feel for change up. Derek has a chance
to play professional baseball after one year
of junior college.
Chris Lewis – A sophomore Left handed
pitcher form Dallas, Texas returns for his second
year at Odessa College. Chris has showed
much improvement from a year ago and will be
relied on this year in several roles.
Jerome Leija – A Freshman Right handed
pitcher from Odessa will contend for a spot in
the rotation with a 90 mph and improving secondary
pitches. Jerome also has a chance to professionally
like his counterpart Loera.
Matt Wolfe – A Freshman Right handed pitcher
from Wichita Falls, TX. Matt has the upside
to make some serious contributions as a freshman,
with a 6-3 frame and a strong arm, he has the
makings of a good one.
Cord Jezek – A Sophomore Right handed
pitcher who returns from last years staff. Cord
saw action last year as a starter and a guy out
of the pen. Cord is going to be relied
on heavily to help this club win ball games.
Cord is from Denton, TX
Jimmy Burmudez – A Freshman right handed
pitcher from the Bronx, NY. Jimmy has a
great loose arm with the ability to beat people
with a fastball. Jimmy needs to command
his secondary stuff better to be a huge asset
to our program.
Mason Munguia – Mason is also a right
handed pitcher from Odessa who returns for his
sophomore year. Mason saw all of his action
last year out of the bull – pen. Mason’s
sidearm delivery will give us a different look
again this year and his continued improvement
will help this club considerably.
Miles Mulkey – Miles is a sophomore transfer
from Weatherford College where he pitched 25
innings last year. Miles will give us another
strong bodied pitcher to the depth chart with
the ability to start or long relieve.
Elvin Jorge – Elvin is a Freshman Left
handed pitcher from the Bronx, NY. He
has a very loose arm with the ability to be a
difference maker for the wranglers. With
continued improvement he will be a force this
spring.
Fabian Roman – A Freshman right handed
pitcher from Jersey City, New Jersey will be
a huge asset to our program. Fabian was
a 36th round draft pick out of H.S. by the Kansas
City Royals. Fabian has the ability to
dominate with a fastball that gets up to 95mph.
Zack Scott – Zack is a freshman right
handed pitcher from Colorado. Zach has
already improved greatly in his short time here. He
will give us much added depth to our pitching
staff this spring.
Cody Mayes – Cody is a Freshman right handed
pitcher from Plains, TX. Cody like Scott has
improved greatly in the short amount of time
here and will add depth to our staff.
Derek Brooks – A sophomore right handed
pitcher returns for his second year as a Wrangler. Derek
was a very instrumental piece to the success
of last years team, and will focus this year
more on pitching. This will be a great
thing for Dereks continued improvement.
Elias Todman – Elias is a freshman infielder
from the Bronx, NY. Elias will come in
a see time right away at short stop and second
base. Elias is a switch hitter with very
good defensive skills that will be very useful
this spring.
Alexis German – Alex is a Freshman from
the Bronx, NY. Alex will add a lefthanded
bat to our offense and some versatility to our
defense. Alex will be used at both the
infield and outfield positions.
Carlos Rodriguez – Carlos is a freshman
infielder from Fort Worth, Texas by way of Puerto
Rico. Carlos will contend for playing time
at second base. He has the ability to handle
the bat and be a good situational hitter.
Preston Carlile – Preston is a Freshman
from Vancouver, BC. Preston will add power
to the middle of the line up and challenge for
the everyday job of first base.
Raymond Frias – Ray is a Sophomore transfer
from NC Greensboro where he played in 36 games
as a freshman. Ray has the ability to play
everyday for us at either short stop or second
base. He is from the Bronx, NY. Ray
will bring some energy to the offense with his
ability to run and hit.
Henry Cartagena – Henry is a Freshman
from the Bronx, NY. Henry will contend
to play third base everyday this spring as well
as bring consistency to our offense.
Viosergy Rosa – Vio is a Sophomore transfer
from Wallace Comm. College. Vio hit in
the three hole for Wallace last year and was
an everyday player. Look for the same here
at OC with his ability to defend and provide
offensive pop to our line-up. Vio is from the
Bronx, NY
Chris Winder – Chris is a Sophomore returner
from last year regional team. Chris has
a tremendous motor and plays the game the way
it supposed to be played. He played every
game last year a freshman in centerfield. He
has the ability to run, defend, and hit. Chris
is from Craig, CO
Beau Poston – Beau like Chris returns
from last year team. Beau will bring many
things to the table for us again this year. He
is from Fort Worth, TX and will look to play
everyday in the outfield this spring.
Andrew Garcia – Andrew is a returning
Sophomore who finished strong last season was
playing everyday into the regional tournament. Andrew
has the skills it takes to be and everyday player
this spring and needs to continue to improve.
Andrew is from Miami, FL
Zach Wagner – Zach is returning after
sitting last year out. Zach played in nearly
every game in the spring of 08 and will contend
to do the same this year. Zach is from
Houston, TX
Leonardo Parrondo – Leo is a Redshirt
Freshman transfer from St Thomas University. Leo
will add depth to the infield and outfield positions
while adding some power to the middle of the
line-up. Leo is from Miami, FL
Gaby Molina – Gabby is a sophomore transfer
Caldwell College. Gaby will look to catch
everyday this spring and provide some offensive
power to the line-up. Gaby is from the
Bronx, NY
Ben Armstrong – Ben is from Vancouver,
BC and will contend for time a catcher this spring. His
left handed bat will provide us with more depth
from that side of the plate.
Jamal Vargas – Jamal is a freshman from
Queens, NY. Jamal has a tremendous amount
of athleticism that needs to be transferred onto
the baseball field.
Matt Peterson – Matt is a returning Sophomore
that played a considerable amount last season. His
ability to play multiple positions will help
him see the field gain this spring. Matt
is from Houston, TX
Jose Longoria – Jose is a freshman from
Odessa, TX and will contend for playing time
this spring at the catching position. Jose
has great defensive ability that will allow him
to see the field this spring.
Jose Chavez – Jose is a freshman utility
player from Pecos, TX. Jose will bring offense
to the depth chart this spring. Jose could
find himself playing this spring if he continues
to hit like he is capable. |
