| SEASON OUTLOOK |
The outlook for the Wranglers is exciting and scary. With great returning leadership many of the issues that face young teams should be held in check, but the Wranglers are showing a roster of 13 freshman which can make a coach nervous. The talent level of that freshman class, however, is exciting. The team will have a chance to break every school record for power and challenge the 2005 team for run production. This year we are working to not just make the National tournament but win a Championship! |
| |
| PLAYER BIOS |
| Caitlyn Crain |
Saginaw High School |
Saginaw, Texas |
| Caitlyn comes off a challenging year last year. After having a great fall she would find herself fighting for her life over Thanksgiving after a car accident left her with a punctured lung, dislocated left elbow and a ruptured spleen. Amazingly she would fight back and pitch again for the Wranglers in late February and be a vital part to the National tournament run. This fall she is recovering from yet another surgery on her left elbow but there is little doubt that she will be a major contributor again this season. |
| |
| Kristy Smith |
Odessa High School |
Odessa, Texas |
| Kristy indeed played a huge role in our success last season. She will out work, our hustle, and out desire anyone who challenges her. After leading the team in hitting the Wranglers have high expectations for her to step up her leadership role and lead this team to a National Championship. The sky is the limit for Kristy. |
| |
| Holly Vanden Bossche |
Murrieta Valley High School |
Murrieta, California |
| Holly had a great freshman season and made the move from 3rd to 1st look very easy. She has a great eye for the ball and has great gap-to-gap power for us. Holly will be one of the leading hitters on the team and will compete for the starting 1st base position. |
| |
| Chelsey Edior |
Westchester High School |
Los Angeles, California |
| Chelsey made great strides last year in moving to the left side and learning to slap. By years end she was one of the more dependable slappers and helped start many of our late year rallies. With a year under her belt and that rocket arm in the outfield, Chelsey should play a large role in the outcome of this season. |
| |
| Claren Hurlbut |
Farmington High School |
Farmington, New Mexico |
| Claren should be our lead-off hitter this year and we are expecting her to steal close to 50 bases. She will move to center and look at leading our outfield. She works hard and her speed is invaluable. As the table setter for the offense this year, the Wranglers may very well go as Claren goes. |
| |
| Amber Gutierrez |
|
Fullerton, California |
| Amber returns to the Wranglers from Fullerton, California. She was a pivotal role player last year and a defensive specialist in late innings in both the infield and outfield. This year expectations are high for her to flourish offensively and become one of the everyday starting outfielders for the Wranglers. |
| |
| Erica Armendarez |
Odessa High School |
Odessa, TX |
| Erica is another product from the highly successful Odessa High program. Erica will battle for playing time at 3rd and the development of her offensive potential will be the key to her success and play a major factor in her playing time. |
| |
| Desiree Ayarzagoitia |
|
Kingsville, TX |
| Desiree comes in from south Texas bringing with her several years of experience as a catcher and a dynamite arm. She will be tough to steal on and will battle with two other freshman catchers for playing time behind the dish. |
| |
| Emily Beale |
|
Fort Worth, TX |
| Emily caught the eye of Coach Prickett as a junior in high school when she hit two homeruns in a fall scrimmage against the Wranglers. She is going to battle for a position in the outfield and has the potential to hit double-digit homeruns. |
| |
| Betty Caporal |
|
Paramount, CA |
| Betty is one of two members to have played for Joe Vargas with the travel team Cal Thunder. She is a fast lefty slapper and has great actions defensively. She will compete for the starting short stop position and has the potential to steal 20+ bases for the Wranglers. |
| |
| Ashley Carlson |
|
Garden Grove, CA |
| Ashley will come in and immediately compete for a middle infield position. She has a great inside out swing and has a chance to hit double-digit doubles this year. She has a great glove and strong arm and will be hard to keep out of the line-up. |
| |
| Georgie Dominguez |
|
Culver City, CA |
| Georgie is a fast slapper who will compete for a starting outfield position. She too comes from Vargas Cal Thunder and can play the infield as well as the outfield. She is a great worker with a great attitude and should be a major contributor to the Wranglers success this season. |
| |
| Krista Eklund |
Greenwood High School |
Midland, TX |
| Krista is a local talent that comes to us from Midland. She has great size and will be one of three catchers competing for the starting position. Having only caught for one season in high school her potential is still un-tapped and the Wranglers have high expectations for her future. |
| |
| Maurisa Ellis |
Piedra Vista High School |
Farmington, NM |
| In keeping with our Farmington connection the Wranglers were happy to bring in Maurisa. Maurisa brings something to the table that very few high school students can boast about, that being five state championships. She was a five year starter and was part of a squad that won the New Mexico State Championship five years in a row. She will bring a winning attitude and incredible skills to the middle infield this season. |
| |
| Jackie Flores |
San Elizario High School |
San Elizario, TX |
| Jackie’s connection to Coach Prickett goes back almost 10 years as she is the niece of his very first assistant coach Edna Garcia (EPCC). Though the relationship was started then, Jackie brings a great game to the Wranglers. She will compete for an outfield position and has the ability to be a major player this season. |
| |
| Jaclyn Gomez |
|
San Bernadino, CA |
| Jaclyn comes to us from California and was the catcher and teammate for Delia all through high school. She has a great attitude and will be one of the three freshman catchers looking to solidify her spot in the line-up. |
| |
| Jolene Graham |
|
Sutter, CA |
| Jolene should be one of our top players this season. She can play third, catcher, short, and will pitch for the Wranglers this season. She has an incredibly athletic build, a canon for an arm and can hit the long ball. She is already catching the attention of many and the Wranglers look for big things from her this year. |
| |
| Audrey Harner |
|
Mendon, OH |
| Audrey transfers to the Wranglers from the University of Toledo in Ohio. She is very versatile both offensively and defensively. She brings experience and leadership qualities that will have a drastic impact on the Wranglers this season. She will compete for an outfield position but can play middle infield whenever needed. |
| |
| Delia Saucedo |
|
Highland, CA |
| Delia is one of three freshman pitchers that the Wranglers are counting on to make an impact this year. Not only is “D” very effective in the circle, she could prove to be one of the top hitters in the program. She is a hard worker and loves to compete and will play a big role this year for the Wranglers. |
| |
| Elita Sendejo |
Seminole High School |
Seminole, TX |
| Elita is a local area kid that will no doubt compete for the number one pitching role. She is a left-handed pitcher from Seminole and like Delia, she also swings a big stick. She enjoys having the ball with the game on the line and will see that role many times this year. She will be another part of the freshman trio of pitchers that the Wranglers are looking for big things from. |
| |
| Lindsay Vochoska |
|
Corinth, TX |
| Lindsay is one of the more exciting players potentially that the Wranglers have had in the past years. She has the potential to hit 20+ homeruns this season and break every school record for power. She is a hard worker, great student and will have a huge impact on the offense of the Wranglers this year. |
